When I was growing up in Slovenia, Communists controlled the airwaves. Trust me, the only thing worth watching on TV was the commercials.
TV got much more interesting after my family moved to the States. But I was still fascinated with the commercials. I went on to a career in advertising, with senior creative positions at MullenLowe, Hill Holiday and Digitas.
And in case you’re wondering, Zargaj rhymes with car guy, while the 'z' is pronounced like the 'zh' in Zhivago. It’s spelled just like it sounds — but only in Slovenia.
